Partial Conversion of Grade II Listed Shop to Residential

Dolman have just received Approval of Planning Permission and Listed Building Consent for the Partial Conversion of a Grade II Listed Shop in the Town Centre of Trowbridge.

Works include the provision of three apartments in the listed building, with the retention of a smaller shop to the front.  The design allows the retention of the heritage shop front whilst altering the less noteworthy side elevation to provide entrances and windows for views and light for the new apartments.

Various elements were taken into account to ensure the successful Application, including a sympathetic design that met the Client’s needs, the sensitive conversion of the heritage asset, the provision of bicycle parking and bin / recycling storage and a review of the planning history of the building and the area to provide a comprehensive set of supporting documents to submit to Wiltshire Council.  This approach was met favourably by the Council with an Approval forthcoming earlier than the anticipated decision date.
