This shop in the centre of Trowbridge, located within a Listed Building is of a considerable size; the Owner was finding it difficult to let out as a single Unit. Various options were considered and as the building is Listed the heritage of the structure was taken into consideration.

The proposal divides the space into four units, retaining a retail space to the front with the historic frontage.  Three units become dwellings, two one-bedroom dwellings and one two-bedroom dwelling. New side entrances, windows and stairs were formed, within the areas of least historic significance.  The Application for Planning Permission and Listed Building Consent was in-depth, to show that the works were both necessary for the continued use of the Building as well as sensitive to the historic significance of the structure.  An approval was received and further details regarding the windows and doors, proposed partitions, insulation and even the location of the refuse collection were detailed for Discharge by Wiltshire Council.  Technical Drawings were completed and submitted for Building Regulations; works are ongoing on site.
