Class Q Approvals

We have recently obtained another Class Q Approval for the conversion of a Farm Building into a residential property.

The building consists of a steel portal frame structure with corrugated tin cladding and roof coverings, concrete block walls at low level.

Class Q allows for the conversion of Farm Buildings, subject to numerous Conditions being met.  At Dolman we’re able to advise Clients if their Buildings are suitable to exercise the Class Q Permitted Development.

For each Application we carry out architectural designs agreeing proposals with Clients, followed by preparation of documents to justify to the Local Authority how the Building meets the criteria. To date we have been successful on 23 Applications for Class Q Approvals and 1 refusal, furthermore we have also obtained Approval to extend a Class Q conversion and to rebuild a barn and replace with a new dwelling
