Refurbishment of large Grade II Listed detached house

Works, apart from some minor snagging, have been completed to this attractive Grade II Listed building near Marlborough. The works entailed much needed M&E updates and heavy decoration to bring the dwelling up to a modern living standard so that our client can rent out the property.
Dolman carried out a building and a measured survey in order to prepare tender documentation to be priced by three contractors. Once the preferred contractor was selected Dolman undertook the contract administration and QS roles which involved weekly site visits and monthly meetings, to ensure the project was finished to a high standard as well as in a timely manner and within budget.
We are thankful to our client for the instruction as well as to the contractor for carrying out the works in a professional manner.
During the contract period a Planning Permission Application was submitted to remove a redundant outbuilding and to provide a new carport and store, which we have since obtained approval for. The design and form of the building has been well considered in order to meet the needs of the client as well as compliment the setting.
Dolman, on client’s behalf, instructed a Structural Engineer for design input to accompany submission of a Building Regulations application, which we are awaiting approval for.
In the meantime, site set up, exploratory works and demolition of low height walls have commenced. We look forward to working with the same contractor again, confident that our continued collaboration will result in a successful outcome that meets our client’s expectations.
