This Listed (Grade II) School building designed by G.E. Street (Royal Courts of Justice, The Strand) dates from 1866 and has been extended and altered numerous times during the 20th century and early 21st century. The existing layout presented a number of challenges to the school most notably access to the pupil toilets via an existing classroom. Through careful planning it was possible to re- order the internal space to provide a more functional layout as well as preserving historical aspects of the building. The works were carried out against a challenging programme and successfully completed on time during the school Summer Holidays (2017).
