Planning Permission and Listed Building Consent are currently being sought for extensive works to the car park and garden areas adjoining this extremely popular historic public house.  The scheme aims to enhance the appeal of the outside areas and make it easier for staff to look after customer’s needs.

Part of the works are to create a dedicated beer terrace adjoining the front of the premises, with a new low level stone wall enclosing an attractive paved terrace that will now be separate from the parking and access areas.  Parking is to be moved further away from the building and this will also enhance the garden.  In response to the popularity of the roasts and other activities regularly held in the garden, a new sheltered barbeque area is to be formed, providing much improved external catering facilities.  Additional car parking is also incorporated into the design.
