The reinstatement of a thatched cottage in Marston is progressing well. Works commenced in early January with completion expected late July 2021.

A covered scaffold has enabled the workforce to progress throughout the inclement weather.

The cottage is now structurally sound, roof construction is complete. Roof coverings of handmade clay tiles and long straw thatch is to be started in April.

The upper floor wattle and daub panels are being repaired and reinstated, with hazel being cut locally.

The traditional timber frame repairs in oak, and lime mortar work to lower-level plinth walls and brick panels have been completed.
